This Workshop Has Been Sent By Poetry
A poetry writing workshop led by Abhijeet Singh
In the ever-elusive tradition of truth-seeking, this workshop, kindly led by friend and comrade Abhijeet Singh, aims to find out whether such as a thing as a poetic or creative 'calling' exists.
Through intimate readings of work by poets including Wang Wei, Mirza Ghalib, George Oppen, Blanca Verala and others, the workshop will present a case for a Poetics of Self-Annihilation. Pulling down the boundaries between the poem and life and interrogating the feudalism of meanings are at its heart.
Ultimately, and ideally, this workshop will help us all.
All are welcome from 2-4pm in the library at the 1 in 12 Club. Workshop tickets are £7, and this includes entry to the evening's readings from 7-9pm, where Abhijeet will be joined by Ágnes Lehóczky and Stephen Emmerson.
